Party Food Favorites

Looking for some killer homemade finger food to serve at your next party or bring to your friend’s for Super Bowl Sunday? These simple and delicious bites always receive raves! They’re all made with inexpensive ingredients that you may already have at home. The best part is that they’re all make ahead!

Black Bean & Corn Salad: This one is perfect for parties because it’s a substantial dish that’s vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and can go hours without refrigeration. Also, it never lasts! Whenever I make it for an event, there are NEVER leftovers. It does double duty as a side or as a dip with tortilla chips. I regularly make it to have around as a healthy snack for the week and it’s gone in 2 days!

No Fuss Hummus & Toasty Pita Chips: Sometimes I make this and serve it with fresh veggies and call it dinner on a weekday, much to everyone’s delight! I usually have the ingredients on hand, so it’s an easy addition to any party buffet or a last minute take along to someone else’s home. As delicious as the hummus is, the best part is having it with the toasted pita chips! They’re absolutely addictive!

Easy Guacamole: When it comes to Guacamole, simple is best. I prefer a smooth guac for parties because it’s easier to eat and has less of a chance of falling off the chip (and onto my floor). If it’s made too far ahead of time, the avocado can discolor; but I find that because of the acidity in this recipe, I can make it a few hours or so ahead and it’s still a tempting fresh green until the end of the party.

Homemade Ranch Dressing: You’ll Never Go Back to the Bottle: This is my house dressing. I assure you, once you see how easy it is to make your own ranch and taste how much better it is than anything you have ever bought, you’ll never go back to the bottle! At a party, everyone goes crazy for this ranch! I make a crudités with easy veggies, like carrots, celery, radishes, and snap peas. That way it’s its own dish but also works as a perfect accompaniment if someone brings wings.

Italian Sausage Wontons: Of all the recipes here, the Italian Sausage Wontons get the biggest praise from my guests. They’re also the most work, but they’re worth it! When I have extra time for a kitchen project, I make a big batch and keep them in the freezer. Then they are available for whenever I need them.

Bonus Cocktail Recipe!

Perfect Pitcher of Mojito Cocktails: I make this recipe by the pitcher because when you’re hosting, it’s always easier to pour than to mix. The Mojito is one of my favorite cocktails and this is my favorite version. It may be helpful to have an extra pitcher’s worth of lime juice, mint, and syrup waiting in the fridge to quickly mix up additional pitchers as the party goes one. My experience is that most party-goers will want at least one, even if they usually drink beer or wine!

I hope that you try one of these tasty dishes for your next get together, be it Super Bowl, Oscars, or any excuse to enjoy good food and drink with friends! They’re all crowd pleasers, versatile for any occasion, and budget friendly.

Happy Eating!
