One of the things that I love most since starting Optimistic Kitchen is having the opportunities to work with and support other small businesses. When I first saw Bübi Bottles on Instagram, I was taken by the cool design and the variety of colors and sizes that are available. The added allure of their durability and being able to withstand the dishwasher made them very appealing to me as I am always looking for ways to reduce the amount of waste I produce, especially plastic products. So, when I was asked by the company if I would be willing to test them out and share my thoughts about them with you, I was very eager to give them a try!
So here are some of the vitals that you need to know about Bübi Bottles: They are made from medical-grade BPA free silicone and come in 14oz, 22oz, and 35oz sizes, as well as baby bottle and pet bowl models; allowing the whole family to stay hydrated and eco friendly! The seal is water tight, so not only will it not leak, you can also use it to store dry goods. They can be used across the spectrum of temperatures ranging from the freezer to the microwave and are puncture resistant!
We tried out all 3 of their standard bottle sizes, as well as the flip top, and the pet bowl, and the bottom line is: I love them! The most important features to me are that they are versatile, durable, and easy to clean—and I mean completely clean and knowing it, because I can even turn it inside-out to clean it. Beyond keeping your beverage of choice with you at all times, they can be used to store liquids, dry goods, use for first aid as a hot water bottle or ice pack, they can go in the dishwasher (even the bottom rack) and the microwave!
Since they are so easy to carry and clean, we have been using them (and washing them in the dishwasher) every day!I keep one filled with water in the freezer so that it’s ready to go grocery shopping with me and keeps the ice cream cold in my cooler bag on the way home. On days that I know I’m going to be in meetings all day, I pop the frozen one in the fridge the night before so that it starts to melt a little and I have 22 oz of ice water to keep me refreshed. I also bring a 2nd one along with me with my favorite hot herbal tea. Because they conveniently collapse and roll up when empty, they take up minimal space in my purse and can even hook onto the strap. My middle-schooler prefers capping his bottle with the easy to use flip top. His favorite use for it is pouring milk and chocolate syrup in it and then shaking it to mix it well. Since the seal does not leak, he can shake it as hard as he wants–and he definitely puts it to the test! The dogs love that I now can bring water for them on long walks because the pet bowl is also light weight, collapsable, and hooks to a belt loop or purse strap. The bottles come in a variety of colors so everyone in the family can pick their favorite!
I love making smoothies for my family in the morning. It’s a delicious and convenient way to get some servings of fruit into our diet.
